| The explorers Hipolito Ruiz
and José Pavon
have draw up an inventory end 17e century the flora in the
mountains ofAndes of Peru and Chili. They have noticed
their experience in a manuscript for editing in a botanical
volume. This manuscript was planned to apear in an edition of 12
volumes. However the editor Typis Gabrielis de Sancha in Madrid
came in the period 1798 -
1802 not further than 3 volumes, but fortunately is in the
volume 3 still noticed the assembled givens of the discovered
fuchsiaspecies. As you can see under this, they have made very
detailed illustrations in black and white of their eight discovered species.
